Founding

AgriHealth Promotion Uganda, an indigenous NGO registered in 2024, was established by visionary Ugandans to address pressing development challenges through a comprehensive approach integrating agriculture, health, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment. The organization aims to foster sustainable development by reducing poverty, improving food security and health outcomes, and enhancing economic resilience through diverse interventions that support entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and community development.

The organization currently operates in Mukono, Mbale, and Manafwa districts, with plans to expand to other underserved areas as resources allow.

Who We Are

AgriHealth Promotion Uganda operates at the intersection of agriculture, health, economic empowerment, and environmental sustainability, addressing Uganda’s urgent development challenges through integrated and transformative solutions. Recognizing that economic resilience is a cornerstone of sustainable development, the organization promotes access to finance, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and credit services, alongside its health and agricultural initiatives.

With over 70% of Ugandans reliant on agriculture for their livelihoods and malnutrition affecting 28.8% of children under five, AgriHealth seeks to improve agricultural productivity while addressing critical health and economic challenges. By advancing entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, particularly for youth, women, and other marginalized groups, the organization aims to empower communities to overcome poverty, increase household incomes, and build long-term resilience.

Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Uganda’s Vision 2040, the organization contributes to:

SDG 1
No Poverty

Promoting financial inclusion, savings, and credit services to uplift communities economically.

SDG 2
Zero Hunger

Improving agricultural productivity and addressing malnutrition.

SDG 3
Good Health and Well-being

Promoting health education and preventative care.

SDG 6
Clean Water and Sanitation

Supporting WASH initiatives to improve health and agricultural outcomes.

SDG 8
Decent Work and Economic Growth

Creating opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and economic growth.

SDG 12 & 15
Responsible Consumption and Production. Life on Land

Promoting sustainable agricultural practices and environmental conservation

This holistic approach allows AgriHealth Promotion Uganda to directly support Uganda’s National Development Plan priorities of economic growth, agricultural modernization, and health improvement, while addressing critical gaps in financial inclusion and entrepreneurship.

Diversity and Inclusivity

AgriHealth Promotion Uganda emphasizes diversity and inclusivity, prioritizing the participation of youth, women, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), refugees, and other marginalized and special interest groups. By fostering equal opportunities, including access to financial services and entrepreneurial training, the organization ensures that development efforts are equitable and impactful for all.
